Forests: social-ecological resilience and sustainability transformation

The aim of this research is to promote sustainability transformations within Finland’s forest sector. The study will produce interdisciplinary knowledge that is necessary to comprehend and manage the social-ecological resilience of Finland’s forests. It will provide a comprehensive understanding of forests as systems characterised by complex human-environment interactions and analyze the potential and risks of different interventions to guide entire forest SES to more sustainable states. This effort is part of the ForTran project (work package 5).
